Rodger Dale Mason, of Ardmore, OK, was born November 19, 1954, in Floydada, TX, to Travis Dale Mason and Ola Eujean (Jacobs) Mason. He passed from this life on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at his Ardmore residence at the age of 71.


Rodger moved to Oklahoma in 2018 to be near his mother. He worked as a professional painter and restorer and was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his craft.

He married the former Cathy Diann Lambert in January of 2021 in Marietta, OK.


Rodger was preceded in death by his father and two sons, Rodger Wilson Mason and Casper Lee Mason.


Those left to cherish his life are his wife, Cathy Diann Matthew of the home; his mother, Ola Nettles of Burneyville, OK; sons Kenneth Ray Mason of Lubbock, TX, and Richard Heath Matthews and wife Bobbi of Florence, TX; daughters Misty Coleman and husband Ronald of Richmond, VA, Morgan Mason of Camdenton, MO, Terri Cobb and husband Mark of Kosse, TX, and Nina Mason of Ardmore; 20 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; a brother, Jimmy John Mason and wife Primor of Burneyville; sisters Kandy Willard of Adair, OK, Lola Jean Reed and Mary Jean Oberkrom, both of Burneyville; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and two aunts, Shirley Shinault of Marlin, TX, and Retha Tigue of Canyon, TX.


Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 24, at the All Faith Christian Church in Marietta with Rev. Jerry Turner officiating and Bro. Matt Tunnell assisting.

Interment will follow at the Rubottom Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home in Marietta.

Casket bearers will be Jimmy Mason Jr., Jeremy Mason, Richard Heath Matthews, Dustin Hiatt, Cameron Coleman, Brandon Watson, Kenneth Mason Jr., Richard Scott Matthews, Bentley Mason, and Cody Mason. Honorary bearers will be Jimmy John Mason, Chamberlyn Mills, Ronald Lee Coleman, and Mark Cobb.
