Graveside services for James Elbert Glenn, 82, of Courtney will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 25, at the Rubottom Cemetery with Reverend Mike Williams officiating.

Born November 21, 1932, at Chilton, Texas, the son of the late Fred Charles and Amanda Mae Denham Glenn, he died Friday, September 18, 2015, at his residence.
 
James was raised at Rubottom, attending school at Keltner and then Leon. He began working in the oil field at Electra, Texas, and then later moved to Denver City, Texas, before moving to California. While residing in California he met and soon married the former Jacquetta Perkins on June 21, 1968, in Las Vegas. They remained in California for a while and then moved to Courtney 33 years ago. James always worked in the oil field doing roustabout work. He enjoyed going fishing at the river and was always an avid hunter. He also enjoyed gardening and visiting with all his friends and spending time with his family. 
 
Preceding him in death were his parents; stepfather, Coleman Furrh; two sons, James Ray and Cecil Glenn; brother, Clyde Glenn; sister, Marie Norvell; parents-in-law, W.F. "Bill" and Priscilla Perkins; sister-in-law, Larita Perkins and brother-in-law, W.F. Perkins, Jr.
 
Survivors include his wife, Jacquetta of the home; son, Terry Glenn and wife Kay of Hartselle, Alabama; daughter, Diana Michele Nickerson of Biloxi, Mississippi; brothers, Charles Glenn and wife Betty of Kerman, California, Everett Furrh and Wesley Furrh and wife Brenda, both of Taft, California; sister, Hazel Hough of Taft; brother-in-law, Danny Perkins and wife Sherry of Harrah; sister-in-law, Deborah Norton and husband Rick of Newalla; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Danny Perkins, Larry Don Blankenship, Gene Jackson, Mike Lester, Everett Furrh and Wesley Furrh. Honorary bearers are all of his family and friends.
 
Family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 24 at the funeral home in Wilson.
