Services for Teddy Ray Furrh, 76, of Rubottom were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 20 in the Rubottom Baptist Church with Reverend Ryan Eakins and Reverend Mike Williams officiating.

Interment with military honors followed in the Rubottom Cemetery.

Born July 31, 1942 at Rubottom, the son of Raymond and Hazel Day Furrh, he died Monday, December 17, 2018 at his residence. A veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, Ted served two years in the U.S. Army, 1967 to 1969. For his service he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Combat Infantrymans Badge. After being discharged from the Army he worked in the oil field and then was employed as an aircraft sheet metal fabricator for LTV-Vought Aerospace for 40 years, retiring in 2000. Ted and the former LeeAnn Mielke were married in Marietta on September 11, 2003. Ted loved living the country life, farming and raising cattle. He was a CB/ham operator. He also enjoyed trips to Las Vegas, family gatherings, visiting with old school friends, and for the past 10 years attended his unit’s military reunions. Ted was a member of the Rubottom Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his father, Raymond Furrh; brother, Richard Furrh; and sister, Peggy Furrh Ellis.

Survivors include his wife, LeeAnn of the home; mother, Hazel Hyman of Rubottom; brother, Pat Furrh, also of Rubottom; daughter, Jennifer Sanchez and husband BB of Arlington, Texas; two sons, Joshua Meyer and wife Jamie and Eric Meyer and wife Latoya, all of Ardmore; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Serving as pallbearers were Larry Hicks, Mike Parker, Ronald Rhoades, Will Musser, James Blakley, and C.K. Kelley. Honorary bearers were Tommy Harris, Frankie Rhoades, Joshua Meyer, Eric Meyer, and Pat Furrh.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Rubottom Baptist Church, 30111 State Highway 32, Wilson, OK 73463.
