Services for Mrs. Leidia P. Canales were held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of the Goodrich-Anderson Funeral Home with Father John Page of Ardmore officiating.

The Rosary was said at 7:00 Monday evening at the Chapel.

Mrs. Canales died May 26 in the Love County Health Center. She was born May 27, 1927 in Golida, Texas and had lived in Love County since 1968. She was married to Eusebio Marcos Canales on November 18, 1957 in Waukegan, Illinois. Mrs. Canales was a member of the Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband, Marcos Canales of the home at Courtney; four sons, Juan Canales and Jesse Canales of Courtney, Benito Canales of Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, and Marcos Canales, Jr. of the home; three daughters, Dora Sellers of Velma, Maria Balch of Fresno, Calif. and Felicia Canales of the home; six brothers, Santos Pena of Victoria, Texas, Willie Pena of Chicago, Baltazar Pena, Jr. of Joliet, Illinois, Mike Pena of Orr, Lee Pena of North Chicago, and Toby Pena, Jr. of Waukegan, Illinois; three sisters, Carlota Anderas of Waukegan, Delores McCain of St. Louis, Missouri, Theresa Torres of Wilson; and three grandchildren. 

Burial in the Rubottom Cemetery was under the direction of the Goodrich-Anderson Funeral Home.

Serving as casket bearers were Warner Williams, Joe Dowlearn, Martin Tamez, Larry Gilcrease, Leroy Sparks and Mike Lester.
