He was the son of Asberry and Mamie Lowe Auld. A resident of the Rubottom community all of his life, Mr. Auld worked as a farmer and rancher, and with his wife was Postmaster of the Rubottom Post Office for many years. He married Lorena Russell at Marietta August 16, 1943.
Mr. Auld served as an M.P. in the Army during World War II. He was a deacon of the Rubottom Baptist Church for many years.
Survivors include two daughters, Janell Swick and Juanell Dunn of Rubottom; and two grandchildren, Craig Dunn and Stephanie Fowler.
Mr. Auld was preceded in death by his wife, Lorena Auld on July 3, 1990; and five brothers and two sisters.
Interment was in the Rubottom Cemetery under the direction of the Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Ronald Hallum, Gregory Hallum, Joe Russell, Donald Russell, W.A. Auld and Bill Russell. Honorary bearers included Clayton Hallum, Jimmy Hawkins, Jerry Hawkins, Leonard Reynolds and David Black.
