Services for Carrie Mattie York, 87, of Ardmore, were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, August 6, in the Craddock Memorial Chapel, Ardmore, with the Rev. David Gardner officiating.
Mrs. York was born October 3, 1914, in Bomar, Love County, the daughter of Oscar and Mary Lou Butt Pratt. She died Saturday, August 3, 2002, in a local hospital.
She and Virgil Ellis were married March 10, 1930, and he preceded her in death in 1939. She married Nathan York on December 4, 1943, and he also preceded her in death in 1998. Mrs. York moved to Ardmore from Ada in 1975. She was a homemaker and a salesclerk. Mrs. York was a member of the Maxwell Avenue Church of Christ in Ardmore.
Survivors include a daughter, Pat Mitchell of Marietta; two sons, Don Ellis of Ardmore and David York of Lone Grove; a sister, Mary Cheek of Ardmore; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Mrs. York was also preceded in death by two brothers, a sister and two grandsons.
Pallbearers were E.C. Adams, Kyle York, Greg DeBerry, Daniel York and Justin DeBerry.
Interment was in the Rosehill Cemetery, Ardmore, under the direction of Craddock Funeral Home, Ardmore.
