Graveside services for Willie B. Williams, 75, of Gainesville, Texas, were
held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, in the Dunbar Cemetery, Burneyville, with the
Rev. Lawrence Anderson and the Rev. Gregory Benjamin officiating.
Mrs. Williams was born August 2, 1924, in Frankston, Texas, the daughter of
Doddery and Josephine Wilburn Williams. She died May 11, 2000 in the
Gainesville Memorial Hospital.
She had lived in Marietta before moving to Gainesville three years ago.
She and Mack F. Williams were married in June 1942, in Gainesville, and he
preceded her in death on June 13, 1982. Mrs. Williams was a homemaker and a
member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing and raising flowers.
Survivors include one son, Mackie Williams, Jr. of Oklahoma City; two daughters
and son-in-law, Gracie Coleman and Maxine and Steve Walters, all of
Gainesville; one sister, Lee Anna Fowler of Fresno, California; one brother-in-
law and sister-in-law, Eugene and Janet Rambo of Marietta; one sister-in-law,
Lonzetta Henderson of Dallas, Texas; 10 grand-children; 12 great-grandchildren;
and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Williams was also preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Della
M. Wardlow.
Serving as pallbearers were Perry Halstied, Milton "Bo" Dailey, Ray Douglas,
David Hornbeak, Errol Harrison, Rodney Fuller, Joe Hebert and Larry Don
Hennesy.
Services were under the direction of Kennedy Funeral Home.
