Services for Rosalea Watkins were Monday at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Sowell, pastor of the Eastman Baptist Church, officiating.
Mrs. Watkins was born September 19, 1910, at Powell and died July 31, 1992, in an Ardmore hospital at the age of 81. She was the daughter of Joe and Sarah Elizabeth Yow Purnell.
A resident of Carter County most of her life, she had lived in Wilson for many years before moving to Marietta four years ago. Mrs. Watkins was a homemaker and of the Church of Christ belief. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Noble P. Watson, in 1934. She then married Dewey "Bud" Watkins on July 14, 1941, and he died on February 20, 1983.
Survivors include four daughters, Gloria Smith of Ardmore, Artie Cross of Marietta, Marylan Gentry of Wilson, and Claudine Watkins of the home; a sister, Lizzy Mash of Tulsa; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Interment in the Hewitt Cemetery, Wilson, was under the direction of the Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home. Serving as casket bearers were Billy Bob Cross, Darren Wade Gentry, Dewey Zack Smith, Brandon Kyle, Ricky Banks, and Scotty Ray Smith.
