Services for Jimmy J. Walden, 79, of Centerville, Texas, were held at 11 a.m., Friday, March 28, in the Bates-Rolf Funeral Chapel, DeKalb, Texas, with the Rev. Wayne Frazier and Lynn Blair officiating.
Mr. Walden was born December 1, 1923, in Marietta, the son of Judge Asa and Exa Walden. He died Monday, March 24, 2003, in a Bryan, Texas hospital.
A truck driver by trade, Mr. Walden served in World War II in the 45th Infantry Division of the U.S. Army. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, a rodeo cowboy, a Scottish Rite and a Shriner. Mr. Walden attended North Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Alma of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Bob Borah of Normangee, Texas, and Kim and Andy Molina of Kaufman, Texas; a son, Steven Walden of Lancaster, Texas; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Rose and Don Donahoe of Medford, Oregon, and Sue and Harold Eppler of Lebanon; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and several other relatives.
Mr. Walden was preceded in death by two sisters, Alice Jo Martin and Helen Jay.
Interment was in Avery Cemetery, Avery, Texas, under the direction of Bates-Rolf Funeral Home, DeKalb, Texas.
