Services for Hollis Allen Wilson, 76, were Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in the Dutton Funeral Home Chapel, Iowa Park, Texas. Officiating was Rev. Tommy Higle, pastor of Marietta’s First Baptist Church.
Born September 15, 1916, in Cooper, Texas, Mr. Wilson died November 8, 1992, at his home. A former resident of Thackerville, Mr. Wilson had made his home in Iowa Park for three months.
Mr. Wilson was a former Deputy Sheriff in Childress, Texas, serving 11 years and was self-employed in the trucking business. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a member of Disabled American Veterans Post 085 and Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 1922. He married the former Frances Fay Ann Burch October 25, 1941, in Childress. Mr. Wilson was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Frances Wilson of Iowa Park; a son, John Wilson of Jones; a daughter, Alice Holloway of Wichita Falls, Texas; two sisters, Mildred Lafever of Hereford, Texas, and Dorothy Weightman of California; and five grandchildren.
Services were under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home, Inc., Iowa Park, Texas.
