Services for Reford E. Tims, 89, of Marietta were at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Kennedy Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating was Rev. Jim Enabnit.
Mr. Tims was born June 7, 1910, at Rush Springs, the son of J.W. and Anna Speyers Tims, and died December 24, 1999, in Mercy Memorial Health Center, Ardmore.
Mr. Tims had lived in Love County since 1947, moving here from Texas. He and the former Mattie Foster were married in 1941 at Graham, Texas. A retired farmer and rancher, Mr. Tims was a member of the First Christian Church of Marietta. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of World War II. Mr. Tims was also a Mason and a member of the American Legion Post of Marietta.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mattie Tims of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Edd Fish of Gainesville, Texas; and two grandchildren, John and Michael.
Mr. Tims was preceded in death by seven brothers and two sisters.
Services were directed by Kennedy Funeral Home with interment in Lakeview Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Tom Brannan, Wayne Bond, Larry Martin, Rick Brannan, Bobby Michael and Dean Williamson.
The family has requested that contributions be made to the charity of their choice.
