Services for Edmond Frank Thomas of Gainesville, Texas, will be Friday at 2:00
p.m. in the Courtney Methodist Church with Rev. David Brantley officiating.
Born December 28, 1915, at Courtney, Mr. Thomas died October 19, 1999, in the
River Valley Health and Rehab. He was the son of Edgar and Marie Singleton
Thomas.
Mr. Thomas served in the U.S. Navy Submarine Fleet over 30 years, last serving
on the U.S.S. Tirante. He served in Korea and traveled throughout the world.
Mr. Thomas was Past Master of Masonic Lodge #753 in Nocona, Texas, and a member
of the Courtney Methodist Church. He and Virginia Lee May were married on
April 8, 1944. Mr. Thomas married his second wife, the former Irene Prutt, on
March 27, 1994.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Irene Thomas of Gainesville; two sons and
daughters-in-law, Michael Frank and Kathy Thomas of Ootelwah, Tennessee, and
Datis E. and Debbie E. Thomas of Gainesville; three daughters, Gayla McKee of
Gainesville, Jody Gipson of Norman and Delo Shehan of Fort Towson; two
brothers, Lloyd Thomas of Mountain View, California, and Joe Thomas of Merced,
California; two sisters, Ruth Newsom of Napa, California, and Sue Luoto of
Santa Rosa, California; 15 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and three
great-great- grandchildren.
Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Virginia Lee
Thomas, on October 28, 1987; two brothers, Bill Thomas and Jack Thomas; and two
sisters, Marianne Martin and Sybil Thomas.
Interment with full military honors will be in the Bourland-Belleville Cemetery
under the direction of Clement-Keel Funeral Home, Gainesville. Family members
will serve as casket bearers.

Michigan Ave. Suite 100, Chicago, Illinois 60611.
