Services for Samuel Salas, 21, of Marietta, were held at 1 p.m., Saturday, October 9, in the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home Chapel, with Father Jim Sheridan and Gelasio Garcia officiating.
Rosary was held at 7 p.m., Friday, October 8, in the Chapel, with Gelasio Garcia officiating.
Mr. Salas was born April 15, 1983, in Villa Hinurrjentez, Sombrerete, Zacatecas, Mexico, the son of Julio Salas Sausedo and Teresa Sanchez. He died Wednesday, October 6, 2004, near Marietta.
A resident of Marietta for the past three months, Mr. Salas moved here from Monett, Missouri, where he had lived the previous nine years. Mr. Salas was employed as a machine technician at WinStar. He attended St. Mary's Catholic Church in Marietta.
Survivors include his father, Julio Salas Sausedo of Mexico; mother, Teresa Sanchez of Monett; a son, Samuel Salas Jr.; two daughters, Zitlaly Salas and Leslie Pamela Salas; and three brothers, Alonzo Sanchez Ochoa, Michael Sanchez Ochoa and Osiel Sanchez Ochoa, all of Monett; and grandparents, Martin Sanchez, Mari Lus Gomes, and Leovarda Sausedo.
Mr. Salas was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather. Pallbearers were Victor Sanchez, Poncho Sanchez, Jamie Sanchez, Raul Sanchez, Carmelo Sanchez and Jesus Gastaveda.
Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta, under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta.
