Graveside services for Billie Jo Shankles, 75, of Noble, were held at 11 a.m.,
Tuesday, July 10, 2001, at Burneyville Cemetery, with Randy Roberson
officiating.
Miss Shankles was born December 8, 1925, at Burneyville, the daughter of
William J. and Minnie B. Frazier Shankles. She died Friday, July 6, 2001, in
Norman Regional Hospital, Norman.
Miss Shankles was raised at Burneyville. She lived in Norman for several
years, then was a resident of Purcell for 15 years, and had made her home in
Noble for the past five years. Miss Shankles was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include two sisters, Betty Irley of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Opal
Billingsley of Edmond; and several nieces and nephews.
Miss Shankles was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, George
Shankles, Raymond Shankles, William "Buster" Shankles and Herman Shankles; and
two sisters, Lily Mae Hull and Veda Snider.
Services were under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta.
