Services for Floyd Alvin "Buddy" Reeves, 79, of Mineola, Texas, were held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 5, in the Beaty Funeral Home Chapel, Mineola, with Bro. Arlis Banks officiating.
Mr. Reeves was born April 14, 1924, in Sherman, Texas, and died September 3, 2003, in Tyler, Texas.
An Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Reeves worked in the oil fields all of his life, retiring as an oil field driller for Justiss Oil Company. He has lived in Mineola and Thackerville.
Survivors include six sons, Steve Reeves of Thackerville, Clint Reeves of Houston, Texas, Raymond Reeves of Alba, Texas, Monty Reeves of Marietta, Rocky Reeves of Van, Texas, and Dusty Reeves of Lindale, Texas; two daughters, Virginia Killabrew of Garland, Texas, and Becky Reeves of Quitman, Texas; a brother, Sonny Reeves of Odessa, Texas; a sister, Dorothy Reeves of Lubbock, Texas; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Reeves was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lonnie Marie Reeves in 1986; and brothers.
Pallbearers were his sons and daughter, Becky Reeves.
Interment was in the Mineola City Cemetery under the direction of Beaty Funeral Home, Mineola.
