Servics for Durrell Dean Roberson, 74, were Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in the Griffin-Kennedy Funeral Home Chapel, Ardmore. Officiating was Rev. Don Waters, pastor of Southwest Pentecostal Church.
Born to George Washington and Alice Roberson at home near Crescent in Logan County on October 22, 1920, Mr. Roberson died March 12, 1995, in Memorial Hospital, Ardmore.
He served in the Navy during World War II, worked for the Ardmore Police Department and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Mr. Roberson owned and operated his own trucking company and worked for the Department of Human Services office before retiring. He was a Mason for more than 42 years with Eufaula Lodge 1.
Survivors include a sister, Lula Reed of Ardmore; a daughter and son-in-law, Deana and Ed Burton of Ardmore; step-sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Gayle Jackson of Carrollton, Texas and Gary and Sharon Jackson of Marietta, Georgia; 10 grandchildren, Dee Wilkins, Bryan Burton, Dennis Burton, Tammie Burton, Buddy Burton, Valerie Hornsby, Kevin Jackson, Heather Hughes, Shanon Jackson and Gina Jackson; and six great-grandchildren, Julia Broyles, Zachary Broyles, Clayton Hornsby, Jonathon Jackson, Amber Hughes and Ashley Hughes.
Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery with Bob Bell, J.A. "Jakie" Chambers, Bud Cochran, Bud Copeland, Jack Cross and Ty Lewis assisting as pallbearers.
