Services for Fleeda E. Pitts, 79, of Bakersfield, California, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 14, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness in Bakersfield.

Mrs. Pitts was born August 13, 1923. She died Saturday, September 7, 2002.

She attended school in Leon and was on the basketball team.

She and Leonard Earl Westmoreland were married December 20, 1939, in Leon. They moved to California in 1946, and after 37 years of marriage, he preceded her in death. Mrs. Pitts later married Rayford Carroll and moved back to Leon, then to Falconhead, where they bought a home. He also preceded her in death in 1984. She was a member of the Ardmore congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses before moving back to Bakersfield after Rayford's death to be close to her family. She and Ben E. Pitts were married May 13, 1995.

Survivors include her husband, Ben of the home; a daughter, Quitha Ramil of Bakersfield; and many other relatives and friends.
