Memorial services for James Franklin Martin O'Dell, 69, of Ardmore, were held at 1 p.m. Monday, September 9, at Faith Heritage Church in Lone Grove, with Leo Potts officiating.
Mr. O'Dell was born January 30, 1933, at Simpson, the son of Charles H. and Nancy M. O'Dell. He died Thursday, September 5, 2002, at his residence in Ardmore.
He was reared and lived in the Ardmore area his entire life. He and Betty Sue Dvorak were married October 9, 1957, in Gainesville, Texas. She preceded him in death on July 11, 1995. Mr. O'Dell served in the United States Army and Navy and played his guitar and sang on KVSO many years ago. He worked as a mechanic most of his life.
Survivors include his son, James W. O'Dell of Lone Grove; four daughters and sons-in-law, Shelby and Dale Minyard, Diana and Richard Coatney, and Francis O'Dell all of Lone Grove and Linda and David Hollinsworth of Milo; a brother, Charles "Bud" O'Dell of Ardmore; a sister, Gladys Mize of Ardmore; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and friends, Wesley "Coonie" Watkins of Ardmore, Robert Ingram of Marietta, Mose Love of Ardmore and Chris Richards of Burneyville.
Mr. O'Dell was also preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.
Services were under the direction of Watts Funeral Home, Madill.
