Services for Ola L. Newman, 95, were Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church. Officiating were Rev. Stan Sullinger and Rev. Golden Shook.

Graveside services were conducted on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. in Crestview Memorial Park Cemetery, Wichita Falls, Texas.

Mrs. Newman was born October 26, 1897, in Crockett, Texas, and died November 8, 1992, in the Lu-Ken Manor Nursing Home in Ardmore. She is the daughter of the late John T. and Nancy Blue Lynch.

Mrs. Newman had lived in Marietta since 1974, moving here from Liberty, Texas. A homemaker, she married Elmer M. Newman July 17, 1926, in Marietta. Mrs. Newman was a member of the Eastern Star and the First United Methodist Church, and was also involved in several church organizations.

She is survived by her husband, Elmer M. Newman of the home in Marietta; a daughter, Fern Markwell of Marietta; two brothers, Ray Lynch of Woodbine, Texas, and John T. Lynch of Bay City, Texas; two grandchildren, Pima Battershell and Kima Sullinger; and five great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Newman was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.

Services were directed by the Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home. Assisting as pallbearers were Allen Burns, Dub Bell, Joe Bell, Frank McKay, Fred McKay, and Randy Robertson.

The family has asked that memorials be made to the Love County Health Center or the Love County Emergency Medical Services in Marietta.
