Services for Cecil Wayne Northcutt were Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Roland Luelf officiating.
Born September 19, 1911, in Marietta, Mr. Northcutt died August 3, 1993, in a Denton, Texas, hospital at the age of 81. He was the son of J. J. and Laura Ann Patterson Northcutt.
Mr. Northcutt had lived in Marietta most of his life and owned Northcutt Furniture in Marietta from 1936 until 1987. He married Vena L. Langston on March 19, 1930, in Marietta. Mr. Northcutt was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Marietta, a Mason and a past member of the Lions Club.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Vena Northcutt of the home in Marietta; a son, Cecil Wayne Northcutt, Jr. of Denton; two daughters, Marilyn Bullard of Gainesville, Texas, and Sue Hemphill of Greeley, Colorado; a sister, Alzada Young of Fort Worth, Texas; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Northcutt was preceded in death by a daughter, Laura Jean Castle, on May 13, 1988.
Interment in Lakeview Cemetery was under the direction of the Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home. Serving as casket bearers were Clark Tipton, Don Theune, Gene Washburn, R. A. Harper, Stan McKay and Fred Robertson.
