Memorial services for Shirley Barnett McBride, 67, of Falconhead, Burneyville, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 10, in the Falconhead Christian Fellowship Chapel, with Casey McBride delivering the eulogy and Bill Kersey and Glen Kersey officiating.
Mrs. McBride was born November 12, 1935, in Hutchinson, Kansas, the daughter of Barney and Evelyn Phillips Barnett. She died Thursday, May 8, 2003, at her home at Falconhead.
A resident of Falconhead for the past six and a half years, Mrs. McBride previously made her home in Georgetown, Texas. She and Doyle H. McBride were married March 3, 1953, in Ponca City, and the couple made their home in many different locations due to his occupation. A 1954 graduate of Ponca City High School, Mrs. McBride was employed as a medical records clerk and also as a bookkeeper. She was also a member of the garden clubs in the towns where they lived. Mrs. McBride was of the Protestant faith.
Survivors include her husband, Doyle H. McBride of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law, Jon Dale McBride of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, Jim Coy and Connye McBride of Midland, Texas, and Thom Hugh and Susan McBride of Fort Worth, Texas; a sister, Barbara Mieir of Ponca City; eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Mrs. McBride was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Betty Dulinsky; a brother, William Barnett; and three grand-children, Trena Marie McBride, Jacob McBride and Haley McBride.
Services were under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta.
