Services for Dean Richard Merrill were at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Griffin-Kennedy-Watts Chapel, Ardmore, with Rev. John Wackler officiating.
Born November 4, 1918, in Omaha, Nebraska, Mr. Merrill died February 6, 1993, in an Ardmore hospital after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Merrill married the former Dorothy Klinker on October 7, 1939. He was a retired employee of Mobil Pipe Line and a veteran of World War II where he was a member of the U. S. Navy and the Sea Bees. Mr. Merrill was a member of the VFW of Gainesville, Texas, a volunteer for the Cross Timbers Hospice, and the Mobil Annuitant Club. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Ardmore.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Merrill of the home in Marietta; three sons, Richard Merrill of Marietta, Daniel Merrill of Elk Grove, California, and Thomas Merrill of Guymon; a daughter, DeeAnn Compton of Wanette; two sisters, Kay Merrill of Sunnyvale, California, and Delores Reeves of Carmichael, California; 10 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Interment was in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Griffin-Kennedy-Watts Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers were Kenneth Lemons, Vanoy Green, Harold Bissett, Charles Cody, Dennis Lugo, and Larry Eschenbacher.
Memorials may be made to the Cross Timbers Hospice or to the Trinity Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
