Services for a longtime Jefferson County resident, Lucille Reid Moore, 85, were held on Monday, in the First Baptist Church of Waurika with Rev. Tim Bowen and Rev. Harry Reid officiating.

Born August 14, 1914 at Spanish Fort, Texas to Oklahoma pioneers Geneva Pearl Freeman and Alonzo Cratin Reid, Mrs. Moore died January 28, 2000 in the Jefferson County Hospital after a brief illness.

She moved with her family from eastern Oklahoma to Jeffers-on County in 1926, and was married to Dallas Leon Moore on August 29, 1937 in Waurika. Mrs. Moore was a member of the Claypool Community and Turner School district for many years, and a member of the First Baptist Church in Waurika.

Mrs. Moore was a homemaker, an artist and had also served as manager for the Senior Citizen's Center in Waurika.

Survivors include five daughters, Phyllis Jean Murphy, Lois Ruth Sons, Sandra Lou Moore and Patricia Fay Moore, all of Ardmore; Shirley Ann Woodring of Bixby; a son, Dallas Ray Moore of Union City; a brother, Elmer Reid of Cotterville, California; four sisters, Ona Lee Floyd, Madeline Elkins, Lois Cochenour and Nettie Ruth Cowan all of Waurika; 19 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers, Jewel and Quentin Reid; a sister, Bonnie Fay Frost; and a grandson, Troy Lee White.

Interment was in the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home, with grandsons serving as pallbearers.
