Services for Clyde E. “Bugs” McGill, Jr. of Marietta were conducted Monday at 10:30 a.m. in Marietta’s First Baptist Church. Officiating was Rev. Tommy Higle.
Mr. McGill was born October 27, 1944, at Ardmore, the son of Clyde Sr. and Willie M. Bond McGill, and died January 28, 1999, in Integris Baptist Hospital, Oklahoma City, at the age of 54.
A resident of Marietta all of his life, Mr. McGill graduated from Marietta High School in 1963 and attended Oklahoma State University on a football scholarship. He coached Optimist Club Pee-Wee Football for several years. Mr. McGill retired as clerk from the Santa Fe Railroad. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Marietta.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Kerry and Mary McGill of Austin, Texas; three brothers, Vance McGill, Denzil McGill and Jerry McGill of Marietta; three sisters, Shirley Hicks and Denise McMillin of Marietta and Pat Evans of Keller, Texas; and two grandsons, Jackson and Greyson.
Interment in Lakeview Cemetery was directed by Kennedy Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers were Ron Westfall, Ron Porter, Jim Folsom, Bill Tyler, George Jones, Jr., Jackie Jones and Bill Jones.
