Services for Burney Ray Morgan, 62, of Gainesville, Texas, were held at 10 a.m., Friday, October 3, in the First Christian Church in Gainesville, with Dr. Charlotte Nabors and the Rev. Mark Loewen officiating.
Mr. Morgan was born May 13, 1941, at Thackerville, the son of Vernie L. and Eva Vernell Suggs Morgan. He died Tuesday, September 30, 2003, in the Gainesville Memorial Hospital.
He graduated from Thackerville High School. Mr. Morgan retired in 2002 from the BNSF Railroad, following 30 years of service. He and Betty Gaidaroff were married on July 6, 1963 in Gainesville.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Morgan; his mother, Eva Vernell Morgan; one son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy and Tina Morgan; one daughter and son-in-law, Amy and T.J. Woolsey, all of Gainesville; one brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Janet Morgan; one sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Linda and Harold Clark; his mother-in-law, Winell Gaidaroff, all of Gainesville; two grandchildren, Joshua Morgan and Breann Woolsey, both of Gainesville; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; and a brother, Ernest Morgan.
Pallbearers were Harold Clark, Frankie Mikulec, Alvin Suggs, Tom Suggs, Paul Hassell and Harvey Pippen.
Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery, Gainesville, under the direction of George J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home, Gainesville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Home Hospice of Cooke County, Box 936, Gainesville, TX 76241 or the American Cancer Society.
