Services for Patsy Louise Jones, 62, of Ardmore, were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 1, at Eastside Baptist Church in Marietta, with the Rev. Emmett Jones, the Rev. W.J. Cotton, the Rev. F.J. Patterson, the Rev. Lawrence Anderson and the Rev. Eugene Bellard officiating.
Mrs. Jones was born March 22, 1939, at Burneyville, the daughter of Elmo and Clotilde Baker Toles. She died Wednesday, August 29, 2001, in Tulsa, at the home of her daughter.
A resident of the Ardmore area most of her life, Mrs. Jones retired from Uniroyal after 16 years of employment. She was an active member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Marietta, where she served as president of the Women's Missionary Department. Mrs. Jones was also a volunteer for the Southern Oklahoma Blood Institute.
Survivors include four sons, Douglas Peevy, Carl Scott and Jerold Kirk of Tulsa, and Anthony Brown of Marietta; a daughter, Dianna Kirk Markland of Tulsa; four brothers, Rev. Elmo Toles, Jr. of Burneyville, Elmer Gene Toles of Lawton, Frank Elry Toles of Germany and Billy Wayne Toles of San Antonio, Texas; three sisters, Margaret Moore, Vergie Stoughtenborough and Joann Toles of Ardmore; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, Shedrick Jones in August 1995; her parents; and two brothers, Julius Smith and V.T. Smith.
Pallbearers were Julius Toles, Milton Toles, Osante Moore, Lawrence McCarroll, Cory Willis and Tranille Washington. Honorary pallbearers were Frank Toles, Rev. Elmo Toles, Jr., Billy Toles, Elmer Gene Toles, and the deacons of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
Interment was in Dunbar Cemetery, Burneyville, under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta.
