Services for Matthew Scott Johnson, 14, of Leon, were held at 2:30 p.m.
Tuesday, June 6, in the Rubottom Baptist Church with the Rev. Glen Clary
officiating.
Matthew was born May 20, 1986, in Ardmore, the son of Joe Wyatt and Melda
Rochelle Johnson. He died June 3, 2000.
He had lived in Leon for the past seven months, moving there from Ringling.
Matthew was a student at Take Two Academy of Springdale, east of Ardmore. He
enjoyed fishing and riding four-wheelers. Matthew attended the Marietta
Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Rochelle and Chris Richards of the
home; special mom and dad, Betty and Billy Johnson of Ringling; three brothers,
Dylan Richards of the home, Adam Fuston of Ringling and Shane Fuston of
Belmont, California; one sister, Kristin Richards of the home; grandparents,
Olene Johnson of Rubottom, Dovie Furrh of Ardmore and Charis Jones of Ardmore;
and several aunts, uncles, nieces and cousins.
Matthew was preceded in death by his father, Joe Wyatt in January 1994; and his
grandfather, Marvin Johnson in June 1986.
Serving as pallbearers were Todd Pierce, Michael Manning, James Bratcher, Brent
Thompson, T.J. Wyatt and Willie Russell.
Interment was in the Rubottom Cemetery under the direction of Kennedy Funeral
Home.
