Services for Lavysa V. Jordan, 89, of Marietta, were held at 10 a.m. Monday, August 27, at Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home Chapel in Marietta, with David Lang and Travis Huffman officiating.

Mrs. Jordan was born September 25, 1911, in Cooke County, Texas, the daughter of Floyd and Laura Graham Shout. She died Friday, August 24, 2001, in Mercy Health Love County in Marietta.

Mrs. Jordan had lived in Love County most of her life. She and Porter W. Jordan were married in Marietta August 14, 1926, and he preceded her in death October 1, 2000. A homemaker, Mrs. Jordan was a member of the Marietta Church of Christ.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Fran and Ralph Watkins of the home, Patsy Watson of Fort Worth, Texas, and Judy and Charles Shinn of San Antonio, Texas; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Jordan was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Porter Dale Jordan on October 9, 1989; and two sisters, Vesta Northcutt and Eunice Sawyer.

Pallbearers were David McGehee, Tim Hicks, Joe Davis, Gary Labeth, Vance Parr and Alvin Freeman. Honorary pallbearers were Bill McGehee, Rudolph McGehee, Norman Flanagan, Travis Scott and Quenton Russell.

Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta, under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home.
