Graveside services for Joe James, 68, were Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in the Lone Grove Cemetery under the direction of Craddock Funeral Home, Ardmore.

Born April 9, 1924, in Ardmore, Mr. James died August 11, 1992, in an Ardmore hospital following a brief illness. He was the son of Eugene and Maude Porter James.

Mr. James, a lifelong resident of the Ardmore area, had worked as a roughneck in the oil fields.

He is survived by a son, Grady James of Ponca City; a brother, Gilbert James of Ardmore; three sisters, Louise Folsom of Marietta, Helen Alford of Ardmore, and Grace Moore of Grapevine, Texas; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Mr. James was preceded in death by a sister, Judy King.
