Services for Tansel Bragg Harris, 72, were at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Eastside Baptist Church. Officiating were Rev. Tim Emmons and Marty Ross.
Mr. Harris was born October 15, 1919, in Kosciusko, Mississippi, the son of Bernie P. and Ethel Jones Harris, and died September 7, 1992, in the Love County Health Center, Marietta.
A resident of Marietta for almost three years, Mr. Harris moved here from Lake Providence, Louisiana. He was a retired rancher, having worked in Ellensburg, Washington. Mr. Harris was a veteran of World War II and Korea, serving in the Air Force and Air Force Reserve for 15 years and five months. He married Mary Howard November 15, 1975, in Cleveland, Mississippi. Mr. Harris was a member of the Eastside Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Harris of the home; two step-daughters, Vivian Bunting of Salina, Kansas, and Beverly Clark of Yakama, Washington; four brothers, Robert Harris of Kaufman, Texas, Bill Harris of Delhi, Louisiana, Granville Harris of Tallauh, Louisiana, and Bernie P. Harris, Jr. of Grenada, Mississippi; a sister, Alma Brown of Lake Providence; two grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.
Interment was in the Greenville Community Cemetery with services under the direction of the Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Al Hendrix, Jim Watson, Daniel Howard, Kris Miller, Eugene Bellard, and Thurman Vinson. Honorary pallbearers included Joe Hornbeak, G. W. Flanagan, Jess Bond, Doug Simon, and Hercules McCarroll.
