Graveside services for Mary Ross Hall, 92, were held at 1 p.m. Friday, November 17, in Fort Worth, with the Rev. Mark Woods, pastor of University Baptist Church, officiating.

Mrs. Hall was born July 19, 1908, in Wise County, Texas, the daughter of the Rev. and Mrs. C.A. Ross. She died November 15, 2000, at Mariner Health of Arlington, Texas, following a lengthy illness.

She resided in Wise County until 1916, when she moved with her family to Leon on December 23. They crossed the Red River, which was frozen over, in a covered wagon.

Her father pastored several churches in Love and Carter counties. She attended school at Leon and graduated in 1925, one of three members of the first graduating class of Leon High School. The other members were Ed Parsley and Arthur Petty.

Mrs. Hall was a member and Sunday School teacher at Leon Baptist Church and a member of the Ross Family Quartet. Moving to Fort Worth, she was employed as a dental assistant to Dr. T.M. Hall, whom she later married. She taught Sunday School and was a tireless worker in Travis Avenue Baptist Church for many years until retirement, later moving her membership to University Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sisters, Bertie Brintle of Leon and Billy Mayo of Fort Worth; one brother, the Rev. James Ross of Garland, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews, including a loving caregiver, niece Mary Hill of Arlington.

Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers and three sisters.

Interment was in Greenwood Memorial Park, Fort Worth, under the direction of Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home, Fort Worth.
