Services for Letha E. Hawkins, 82, of Leon were Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in the Rubottom Baptist Church. Officiating were Rev. Mike Williams and Rev. Jimmy May.
Born February 25, 1917, at Gotebo, the daughter of Charles and Laura Leonard Eskew, Mrs. Hawkins died November 8, 1999, at Mercy Health Love County, Marietta.
Mrs. Hawkins had lived in Love County since 1971. She and Rev. Arvel C. Hawkins were married November 11, 1933, at Gotebo. Mrs. Hawkins was a pastor's wife and a homemaker. She was a member of the Rubottom Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Rosy Hawkins of Leon and Rev. Dwight and Judy Hawkins of Ratliff City; two daughters and sons-in-law, Wilda and Irwin Clayton of Blanchard and Joyce and Jack Daugherty of Muskogee; 14 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Mrs. Hawkins was preceded in death by her husband on July 30, 1975; six brothers and three sisters.
Interment was in the Leon Cemetery directed to Kennedy Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Dale Richardson, Mike Parker, Paul Hallum, Vernie Thompson, Alvie Reed and Rob Robertson. Honorary bearers were Oscar Williams, R.B. Romines, Dallas Taliaferro, Jr., Bill Gipson and Woodrow Kendall.
