Services for Alma Whitaker Haley, 93, were Friday at 10:00 a.m. in the Watts Memorial Chapel, Madill, with Lyndol Adams officiating.
Mrs. Haley was born December 11, 1905, at Quick Sand, Kentucky, and died January 26, 1999, in a Madill nursing home. She was raised at Wynnewood and graduated from Wynnewood High School. Mrs. Haley attended East Central University and later graduated from the University of Oklahoma. She taught school at Wynnewood and Midwest City High School. After retiring in 1947, Mrs. Haley moved to Lebanon where she spent the remainder of her life. She married Jeff Haley in Oklahoma City, and he preceded her in death on January 1, 1953. Mrs. Haley was a member of the Baptist Church.
She is survived by great nephews and spouses, J.R. and Pat Couch of Richardson, Texas, Tim and Darlene Couch of Pauls Valley, and Jess and Shannon Couch of Lebanon; a great niece, Nancy Couch of Oklahoma City; and a cousin, Lewis Whitaker of Wynnewood.
Mrs. Haley was also preceded in death by three brothers, Bruce, Taft and Ovie; and four sisters, Otte, Ella, Georgie and Hazel.
Interment was in the Oaklawn Cemetery, Wynnewood, directed by Watts Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Jeff Dollar, Brian Davis, Mark Davis, Ronnie Kelly, Tony Brakefield and Mickey Moistne
