Memorial services for Rose Riley Goins, 93, were Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church, Ardmore, conducted by Rev. C. Richard Mills, pastor.
A Love County native, Mrs. Goins died November 22 in the Ardmore hospital after a brief illness. She was born April 27, 1905, in Marietta, Indian Territory, the daughter of the late Will and Jessie Rose Riley.
A graduate of Kidd Key College, Sherman, Texas, she had attended Southeastern State Teachers College and taught in the Marietta School system prior to her marriage to J.I. Goins in 1932 at Marietta. They moved to Ardmore in 1947. Mrs. Goins was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Gardenia Garden Club and the YWCA.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, James R. and Karen Goins of Norman; two daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and B.C. Harris of Shawnee and Jan and Harry B. McCain of Shreveport, Louisiana; a brother, Carl J. Riley of Marietta; four grandchildren, Michael Goins Harris of Little Rock, Arkansas, James David Harris of Houston, Texas, Sally Goins Pendarvis of Oklahoma City, and Laura Ann Goins of Norman; and four great-grandchildren, Sara Ann Harris and John Michael Harris of Little Rock, Mary Megan Pendarvis of Oklahoma City, and maeve Murphy Harris of Houston.
Mrs. Goins was preceded in death by her husband on September 27, 1991.
Services were directed by Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home with interment in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or Ardmore Garden Center.
