Graveside services for Raymond Jack (R.J.) Goldman, 89, of Marietta, were held at 3 p.m. Monday, February 18, in Lake-view Cemetery, Marietta with the Rev. Dwight Hawkins officiating.
Mr. Goldman was born September 26, 1912, at Royse City, Texas, the son of John L. and Maud McAnally Goldman. He died Thursday, February 14, 2002, in Gainesville Memorial Hospital, Gainesville, Texas.
Mr. Goldman had lived in Love County most of his life. He and Lucille Catherene Mask were married October 1, 1932, in Love County. Mr. Goldman was a farmer, worked as a carpenter building houses in the area, and was also employed as Street Commissioner for the City of Marietta. He was a member of the Oddfellows and the Eastside Baptist Church in Marietta.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille Goldman of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Othell and Charles Thompson of Thackerville; a brother, Garnett Goldman of Marietta; three grandchildren, Cheryl Hitt, Danna and Rick Clifton and Christy and Jason Amis; and two great-grandchildren, Tyson Clifton and Corey Hitt.
Mr. Goldman was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Thelma Dee Bell.
Services were under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta.
