Services for Dottie Bell Goldman, 89, of Marietta, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday,
November 13, at the First United Methodist Church in Marietta, with the Rev.
Tony Caro officiating.
Mrs. Goldman was born January 22, 1912, in Decatur, Texas, the daughter of
George Everitt and Elvie Trent Marion. She died Saturday, November 10, 2001, in
Mercy Health Love County, Marietta.
Mrs. Goldman had lived her entire adult life in Love County, moving here from
Texas as a small child. She attended school at Oil Springs. She and James Oscar
Bell were married August 17, 1929, in Ardmore. They had been married 49 years
at the time of his death on July 13, 1978. In 1986, she married Garnett Goldman
in Madill. Mrs. Goldman was a homemaker and a member of the First United
Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Garnett Goldman of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law, James and Polly Bell of Thackerville, and W.M. (Dub) and Laura Bell and Joe and Susan Bell of Marietta; a brother, Gain Marion of St.
Louis, Missouri; a sister, Beatrice Davis of Wolfe City, Texas; five
grandchildren, Danny Bell of Plano, Texas, Bill Bell, Steve Bell and David Bell
of Marietta, and Amy Alexander of Sherman, Texas; and eight great-
grandchildren, Jeff Bell, Natalie Bell, Wendy Buckner, Chris Bell, Dillon Bell,
Bryce Bell, Austin Bell and Chad Kilcrease.
Mrs. Goldman was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Lon Marion; a sister, Gladys Mitchell; and a granddaughter, Diane Kilcrease.
Pallbearers were grandsons and great-grandsons, Danny Bell, Bill Bell, Steve Bell, David Bell, Dillon Bell, Chris Bell, Bryce Bell, Jeff Bell and John Paul Alexander. Honorary pallbearers were Mike McCauley, J.T. O'Connor, Gene
Washburn, Don Bone, Kathleen Draughon Roberts, Frank Mitchell and Chad
Kilcrease.
Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta, under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta.
