Services for Tommy Joe Farris Jr., 46, of Marietta, were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, January 7, in the Marietta Church of Christ with Bro. Travis Huffman officiating.

Mr. Farris was born October 1, 1956, in Fort Worth, Texas, the son of Tommy Joe and Arlene Rhody Farris. He died Saturday, January 4, 2003, at his residence.

Mr. Farris was a resident of Marietta for the past 8 1/2 years, moving here from Fort Worth. He and Robin Leady were married December 12, 1996, in Marietta. A graduate of North Side High School, Fort Worth, Mr. Farris was an ASE & General Motors Certified Mechanic. He had owned and operated Farris Auto Repair in Marietta for three years. Mr. Farris was a member of the Church of Christ in Marietta.

Survivors include his wife, Robin Farris of the home; father, Tommy Farris of Azle, Texas; mother, Arlene Farris of Marietta; a son, T.J. Farris, III of the home; a daughter Allyson "Suzanne" Acosta of Fort Worth; a sister, Cindy Watts of Fort Worth; and two grandchildren, Ashley Acosta and Bryan Acosta of Fort Worth.

Mr. Farris was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ed Rhody and Ann Rhody; and a brother, Troy Dale Farris.

Pallbearers were Gary Morgan, Steve Bell, Clancy Hallum, Rusty Gable, Doug Barger, Terry Minyard and Kyle Hallum. Honorary pallbearers were Bob Travis and Bill Bell.

Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta, under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta.
