Memorial services for Troy A. Davis, 73, of Marietta were held at 2 p.m., Friday, December 1, at Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Virgil R. Trout and Bro. Ray Hilliard officiating.
Mr. Davis ws born January 8, 1927, at Pike, the son of Forest Norton "Slim" and Maggie Lee Bone Davis. He died Tuesday, November 28, 2000, at his residence.
He had lived in Love County since 1986. He was a photographer and a member of the Maxwell Avenue Church of Christ in Ardmore. Mr. Davis was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Army Air Corps.
Survivors include four daughters and a son-in-law, Margaret Davis of Arlington, Texas, Carolyn Lauderdale of Denton, Texas, Mary and Roger Little of Pilot Point, Texas, and Julie Stark of Denver, Colorado; two sisters, Maudine Springs
of Gainesville, Texas, and Janette Shaw of Canyon, Texas; four grandchildren, Tod Stewart, Matt Atkins, Cindy Stark and Mindy Wood; and two great-grandchildren, Jacob Atkins and Cara Atkins.
Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Bill Davis on January 27, 1999, and Claud Ray Davis on October 14, 2000; and a daughter, Patricia Davis.
Interment in Lakeview Cemetery, was under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home. The family has requested that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association, c/o Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home.
