Services for Paula Jean Davis, 41, were Monday at 3:30 p.m. in the Anderson-Kennedy Chapel with Rev. Tim Emmons, pastor of the Eastside Baptist Church, officiating.
Mrs. Davis was born November 20, 1953, in Ardmore, the daughter of Lonnie and Inita Copeland Reed, and died January 27, 1995, in Presbyterian Hospital, Oklahoma City.
She had been a resident of Marietta for the past 17 years, moving here from Clinton. Mrs. Davis was currently a sophomore at Murray State College and was listed on the Dean's Honor Roll. She was a member of Marietta's Eastside Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, James Weems of Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, and Richard Davis of Marietta; a daughter, Misti Birdwell of Marietta; a brother, Lonnie Reed of Gainsville, Texas; a sister, Missy Welch of Gainesville; aunt and best friend, Barbara Copeland of Marietta; and two grandchildren, Jakelyn Birdwell and Kelsey Weems.
Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Jamie Reed.
Interment in Lakeview Cemetery was under the direction of the Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers were Byron Rutledge, Chris Rutledge, Barry Stewart, T.R. Hayes, T.J. White and Johnny Gregory. Honorary bearers included Ronnie Copeland, Robert Denney, Lonnie Reed, Jamie Birdwell and John Welch.
