Services for Thomas Raymond Cail were Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in Watts Memorial Chapel, Madill, with James Thomas Cail officiating.
Born October 23, 1910, at Cooper, Texas, Mr. Cail died June 8, 1997, in an Enid nursing facility at the age of 86.
Mr. Cail moved with his family to Emmet at an early age. A graduate of Milburn High School, he worked as a farmer in the Mannsville area for the first part of his adult life and later was a soils lab technician for the Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation in Ardmore from 1952 until his retirement in 1974. Mr. Cail also worked as a sergeant in the Oklahoma State Senate for a number of years.
He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Mannsville and Tishomingo and had served as a deacon and was Chairman of the Deacon body for a period of time.
Mr. Cail married Elora Fay Banks at Ravia on June 23, 1940, and she preceded him in death on June 7, 1972. He later married Essie Zoe Giberson on March 17, 1973, at Tishomingo.
He is survived by his wife, Essie Zoe Cail of Enid; three sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Ray, Jr. and Carolyn Cail of Stillwater, Phillip Henry and Sherry Cail of Marietta and Neil Mark and Trecia Cail of Frisco, Texas; five grandchildren, Catherine Faith Coulter of Enid, Charles Clay Cail of Stillwater, and Kari Ann Miller, Heath Allen Cail and Jordan Tyler Thomas Cail, all of Marietta; two great-grandchildren, Shalene Emma Coulter of Enid and Makayla Miller of Marietta; two nieces who were raised with him, Martha Helen Church of Dallas and Edith Copeland of Tucson, Arizona; three step-children, Tim Giberson of Cedar Hill, Texas, Jon Giberson of Hamil, Minnesota, and Paul Giberson of Enid; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Interment was in the Mannsville Cemetery under the direction of Watts Funeral Home, Madill. Casket bearers were Charles Clay Cail, Robert Coulter, James Powdrill, Robert Stephens, Rick Peoples and Jerry Copeland. Honorary bearers were Jordan Cail and Heath Cail.
