Services for Ruby E. Cross, 78, were Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the Shady Dale Baptist Church with Rev. John Sconce officiating.

Mrs. Cross was born November 12, 1914, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of James Oliver and Lillie Mae McDaniel Huffman. She died October 28, 1993, in the Love County Health Center, Marietta.

A resident of Marietta since 1963, she married George L. Cross on February 8, 1939, in Macon, Missouri. Mrs. Cross was a cook at the Red Rooster and the Hub Restaurant in Marietta until her retirement in 1978. She was a member of the Eastside Baptist Church in Marietta.

Survivors include five sons, Louis Cross and Richard Cross of Marietta, Marvin Cross of Detroit, Michigan, Gerald Cross of Redding, Ohio, and James Cross of Owasso; two daughters, Marie Ross of Marietta and Betty Pappan of Pawhuska; a brother, Lawrence Huffman of Marceline, Missouri; two sisters, Ruth Stoud of Phoenix, Arizona, and Alice Lightfoot of Urbana, Missouri; 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Cross was preceded in death by her husband on February 7, 1972; and three grandchildren.

Interment in Lakeview Cemetery was under the direction of the Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home. Grandsons served as pallbearers.
