Graveside services for Ralph Allen Collom were at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Lakeview Cemetery with Rev. Tommy Higle, pastor of Marietta's First Baptist Church, officiating.
Mr. Collom was born February 14, 1928, in Love County, the son of Bascom Green and Annie Clifton Collom, and died April 15, 1996, at his residence near Marietta.
Mr. Collom was raised in Love County and returned in 1977 after living in California for many years. He worked in the oil fields since he was 14 years old and traveled the rodeo circuit as a bull rider for eight years. Mr. Collom was a veteran of the U.S. Army and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include three daughters, Cynthia Collom-Gilbert of Ardmore, Rose Ann Collom Moss of Marietta and Charolette Dee Collom Brooks of Durant; two brothers, Randy Collom of Fillmore, California, and Melvin Collom of Poway, California; and two sisters, June Fleenor of Pomona, California, and Ima Collom of Blythe, California; and six grandchildren.
Services were directed by Kennedy Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers were C. J. Shellenberger, David Ralph Brewer, Joe Buckley, David Shellenberger, Randall Colston and Randy Robertson. Honorary pallbearers were Mose Blair, Joe Colston and Tup Robertson.
