Graveside servcies for O.J. Carter, 87, of Ventura, California, were held at 12 p.m. Thursday, July 25, in the Visalia Public Cemetery in Visalia, California.
Mr. Carter was born October 12, 1914, at Burneyville, and died Sunday July 21, 2002.
He had been a resident of Ventura for the past 35 years and worked for Martin Roofing as a roofer for 30 years.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Maurine of the home; two sisters, Beverly Jessup of Visalia, and Euna White of Burneyville; a stepson and daughter-in-law, David and Beverly Doty of Madera, California; a stepdaughter, Jan Brown of Sacramento, California; two granddaughters, Cori Brown and Jenny Brown, both of Sacramento; a grandson, David Doty II of Monterey, California; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mary Johnston; and two brothers, Aubrey Carter and Haskell Carter.
Services were under the direction of Charles Carroll Funeral Home, Ventura.
