Services for Mary Ann Hines Carlton, 73, of Carrollton, Texas, were held at 1 p.m., Thursday, April 21, at the First United Methodist Church, Bridgeport, Texas. Interment was in East Bridgeport Cemetery, Bridgeport. Arrangements were directed by Hawkins Funeral Home, Bridgeport.

She died Monday, April 18, 2005, peacefully at her home after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.

Mrs. Carlton received her Bachelor of Arts in Education from Texas Woman's University. She and Maurice E. Carlton were married August 10, 1948, in Stratford. They raised their family in Carrollton and had lived in retirement the past 12 years at Falconhead in Burneyville.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Maurice E. Carlton of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. David and Karen Carlton of Dallas; a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and George Etier of Carrollton; three grandchildren, Kyle Carlton of Coppell, Texas, and Emily and Elizabeth Etier of Carrollton; a sister, Joy Beeson of Afton, Texas; and a brother and sister-in-law, Embry and Marti Hines of Bridgeport.

Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice Group, the First United Methodist Churches of Bridgeport and Carrollton, or the Falconhead Christian Fellowship in Burneyville.
