Services for Linda Lou Cross, 55, of Marietta, were held at 10 a.m., Friday, March 12, at Marietta's First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dan Gaither officiating.
Mrs. Cross was born April 8, 1948, in Marietta, the daughter of M.C. and Mildred McBride Rains, she died Tuesday, March 9, 2004, at her residence in Marietta.
She had been a resident of the Marietta/Thackerville area all of her life. She and Richard Cross were married in October 1971, in Gainesville, Texas. A 1966 graduate of Marietta High School, Mrs. Cross was a homemaker and also worked as a cook and waitress at several local restaurants and also as a store cashier. She also helped keep statistics at baseball games. Mrs. Cross was a member of All Faith Rose Assembly Church in Marietta.
Survivors include her husband, Richard of the home; father, M.C. Rains of Lebanon; mother, Mildred Rains of Marietta; two sons and daughters-in-law, Weldon and DiJoni Cross of Marietta, and Gregory and Tammy Cross of Wynnewood; a brother and sister-in-law, Brian and Shelly Rains of Lindsay, Texas; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Gayle and Paul Riley and Donna and Charles Hilton of Marietta and Barbara and Michael Diggs of Okmulgee; and five grandchildren.
Mrs. Cross was preceded in death by her grandparents and a niece.
Pallbearers were Bill Ross, David McGee, Raymond Ducharme, Dewayne Riley, J.T. Riley and Charles Hilton. Honorary bearers were Brent Hilton, Michael Hilton, Brent Doyal, Mike Diggs and the rest of her family and friends.
Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta, under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta.
Memorial contributions may be made to Cross Timbers Hospice in care of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, 100 E. Main, Marietta, OK 73448.
