Services for J.O. "Oscar" Carnahan were May 23 at 3:00 p.m. in the Drawing Room Chapel of Oak Hill Funeral Home, San Jose, California. Officiating was Paul Tripp.
Mr. Carnahan was born May 19, 1904, at Courtney, Indian Territory, the son of Tommy and Emma Carnahan, and died May 21, 1997, in San Jose.
Mr. Carnahan and his wife Charlsie were married on Balcom Hill at Courtney on May 19, 1923, and they had lived in San Jose for the past 35 years. Mr. Carnahan was a member of Alum Rock Baptist Church and the painters union. He was a master painter and had a passion for buying, restoring and selling antiques.
He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Charlsie Carnahan; and a sister, Willie Stafford of Anaheim, California.
Mr. Carnahan was preceded in death by his parents, and three sisters, Daisy Robinson, Minnie Black and Cona Stephens.
Interment was in Oak Hill Memorial Park.
