Services for Jettie Barfield Clevenger were at 2:00 p.m January 20 in the Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City, Kansas, with the Rev. Kirk Larson officiating.
Mrs. Clevenger died January 17, 1999, at Ven Cor Hospital S.W., in Fort Worth, Texas. Born August 25, 1907, in Lone Grove, she was the daughter of William Luther and Ada Campbell Barfield.
She married Albert C. King on January 12, 1929, in Marietta. He preceded her in death on February 10, 1936. She later married David N. Clevenger on September 25, 1947, at Jetmore, and he preceded her in death on December 25, 1983.
Mrs. Clevenger was a homemaker and a member of Grace Community Church, the Topaz Club, the American Legion Auxiliary, V.F.W. Auxiliary, the Hospital Auxiliary, World War I Auxiliary, and a 50-year member of Order of Eastern Star, all of Dodge City.
She is survived by a son, Aaron C. King of Fort Worth; a daughter, Pauline Barnes of Dodge City; two sisters, Edith Shankles and Eva Simpson of Marietta; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services were directed by Swaim Funeral Home with interment in Greencrest Cemetery, Dodge City.
