Services for Hazel Love Cochran, 89, of Marietta, will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, October 18, in the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Marietta, with the Rev. Craig Rutherford officiating.
Mrs. Cochran was born February 2, 1913, at Enville, the daughter of Ester Ruel and Dora Askew Wilson. She died Tuesday, October 15, 2002, in Mercy Health-Love County Hospital, in Marietta.
A resident of Love County all of her life, Mrs. Cochran was a homemaker and also was employed as a clerk at McGehee's Variety and Harris' Variety in Marietta. She and Roy Lee Cochran were married April 19, 1930, at the First Christian Church in Marietta and he preceded her in death on May 6, 1990. An active member of Marietta's First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Mrs. Cochran planted and cared for the flowers at the church. She also volunteered at the Texoma Christian Camp.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry L. and Alice Cochran of Marietta; a daughter and son-in-law, June and Frank Mitchell of Marietta; two brothers, Melvin Wilson of Pryor and Howard Wilson of Albuquerque, New Mexico; six grandchildren, Chris Cochran, Carl Cochran, Curtis Cochran, Cathy Gollan, Paul Mitchell and Terry Mitchell; 10 great-grand-children and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Cochran was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Irene Billingsley and Violet Batson; and four brothers, Gerld Wilson, Dell Wilson, David Wilson and Em Wilson.
Pallbearers will be Jack Drennan Jr., Frank Lambert, Sam Knight, Harold Wegner, Rick Brannan and Steven Burrage. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Tom O'Connor, the First Christian Church membership, and the staff of Lake Country Nursing Center.
Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta, under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church.
