Services for Ernest L. Castle were Monday at 10:00 a.m. in the DeBerry Funeral Chapel, Denton, Texas, with Rev. Larry Nicholson and Rev. Dale Branum officiating. Masonic graveside services were conducted in the Gracelawn Cemetery, Edmond, at 4:00 p.m. Monday.
Mr. Castle was born March 22, 1901, in Newkirk, and died October 17, 1992, in the Lake Forest Good Samaritan Village of Denton at the age of 91.
A graduate of Oklahoma State University, Mr. Castle retired from the Soil Conservation Department, having worked in many cities throughout Oklahoma. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a perpetual member of the Ardmore Masonic Lodge #31, past master of the Duncan Lodge, past patron of the Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of the Consistory of the Guthrie Lodge. He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church of Denton.
Mr. Castle married Thelma Stark January 1, 1979, in Ardmore.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Thelma Castle of Denton; a son, Ernest Lamoyne Castle of Richardson, Texas; two granddaughters, Cynthia Wakely of Fort Worth, Texas, and Catherine Gantt of Plano, Texas; and five great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were under the direction of the DeBerry Funeral Directors of Denton.
