Memorial services with U.S. Marine Corps military honors for Eddy D. Crelia, 55, of Marietta, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, October 1, at Eastside Baptist Church, Marietta, with the Rev. Ronnie Harris and the Rev. Tom Riley officiating.
Mr. Crelia was born August 20, 1949, in Cordell, the son of Lloyd L. and Joy H. Jones Crelia. He died Friday, September 24, 2004, at his residence in Ardmore.
A resident of this area most of his life, Mr. Crelia was employed as maintenance superintendent at the Oklahoma Veterans Center, Ardmore. He graduated from Marietta High School and served with the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam where he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal with device, the RVM Cross of Gallantry with palm and the Rifle Marksmanship Sharpshooters Badge. Mr. Crelia was a member of the Eastside Baptist Church, Marietta. One of his special projects was donating his hair to the Children's Cancer Program.
Survivors include his father and mother, Lloyd L. and Joy H. Crelia of Marietta; three sons, Joshua Crelia of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Cody D-Roth Crelia of Oklahoma City, and Casey D. Crelia of Norman; two daughters, Kelli Wilson of Fort Worth, Texas, and Desiree Dawn Tanner of Ardmore; two brothers, Tommy Crelia of Mobile, Alabama, and Lyndon Crelia of Roswell, New Mexico; three sisters, Peggy Taylor of North Richland Hills, Texas, Kathy Kelley and Polly Phillips, both of Marietta; and four grandchildren.
Mr. Crelia was preceded in death by his brother, Billy Charles Moore.
Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Ellis, Jerry Allen, Robert Wood, Travis Watterson, Merle Petties, Gary Robertson, Charles Milor, Randy Robertson, Tracy Powell, Enoch Watterson and Croley Loyd.
Services were under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta.
Memorial contributions may be made to the the American Cancer Society or the charity of one's choice in care of the funeral home.
